Fundraising for that special Cause dear to your heart.

Fundraising for that special Cause dear to your heart.

On the weekend we worked with Woman Up North to do a Fundraiser for their organisation.

This was the first time that I had added a Fashion Parade to the High Tea Fundraiser. Although the fashion parade High Tea was a success it was not without its troubles.

One of the models got sick on the day and could not do the Fashion Parade, this left us in a bit of trouble. Luckily we had a couple of different fashion providers so the gap was filled. But lesson learnt, “do not correspond via facebook only, ensure that you have a phone contact as well. That was the problem, the lady who got sick, did not have my phone contact, so was not able to advise me that she could not turn up.

Second problem, forgot the music for the parade. I feel you need background music to set the mood for a fashion parade. This problem was also solved by a gentleman playing live for us on the day. There was a piano in the church hall.

So here is some advise for anyone arranging a Fashion Parade for the first time. Listen to the Fashion Providers, and ask them exactly what they need, and what they suggest.

The High Tea side of things was not a problem, as that is my expert field, so the food was presented and served on our nice fine china.

The other thing I would recommend is to get very organised with the advertising, to get more guests.
